When was this photo taken?
maybe sometime around 1991
Where was this photo taken?
Graceland Cemetery Chicago, IL
Who took this photo?
What are we looking at here?
This is a photo of Eternal Silence by the sculptor Lorado Taft.
How does this old photo make you feel?
Rather somber, I always liked this monument and its feeling of grief and loss. It seems rather telling for this year (2021) and the losses we have all been experiencing with the epidemic.
Is this what you expected to see?
I can't really say I was surprised, it was from one of the places I would go for walks when I lived in Chicago. It was taken with an old roll of film, maybe 30 years old, with one of my father's old cameras he probably bought when he was in Japan during the Korean War.
What kind of memories does this photo bring back?
just memories of being alone when I lived in Chicago.
How do you think others will respond to this photo?
I think they will find it mysterius and somber like I do.
