Patricia Zuroski 02

When was this photo taken?

Probably 1987

Where was this photo taken?

Don't know

Who took this photo?

I expect I did

What are we looking at here?

This is my youngest (of three) daughter.

How does this old photo make you feel?

As soon as I saw the photo I could see her four year old daughter: the expression, the posture, the hands. I know what it would feel like to pick up this child right now. It's like we develop muscle memory when we parent. Our bodies know how to hold a child. Our senses are tuned into how they smell, feel, respond to us.

Is this what you expected to see?

I didn't know what to expect.

What kind of memories does this photo bring back?

It reminds me of how quickly life moves along when you are watching your children grow up. The youngest child, in particular, is always the baby and this captures her for me.

How do you think others will respond to this photo?

The quality of the photo has suffered over 30 years of waiting to be developed. I don't know if it will leave an impression that it was taken even many more years ago.
