1. When was this photo taken?
2. Where was this photo taken?
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
3. Who took this photo?
4. What are we looking at here?
A reflection of my girlfriend at the time Stacey Blanchard, (now friends with my wife and I) in a hotel in Montreal. We were there for her birthday and had driven through a bone-crushing downpour from Albany, NY, to get there.
5. How does this old photo make you feel?
It makes me stop to think abut everything that has happened since then, good and bad.
6. Is this what you expected to see?
Yes and no. I have a bag of film -- a small camping ditty/duffel, really -- of film from ages ago, and another one that is even older. I didn't know what to expect.
7. What kind of memories does this photo bring back?
When I saw the photo, I was curious about what was happening behind us in the reflection and where we were. The photo also made me think about everything that has happened since then--to me, to Stacey and everything in general. I remember the rain, and Stacey's teal Honda Civic. I remember that Nikon 24mm f2.8 AF-D lens (which I still have) and the borrowed Nikon FM3a body.
8. How do you think others will respond to this photo?
Hopefully they'll see a passing insignificant moment from 13 years ago, and how it can be interesting when rediscovered.
